Some of the names on the bill include South African singer Lira, Mozambican icon Chico Antonio, Sérgio Pererê (Brazil), Zal Sissokho (Senegal), Joana Serrat Trio (Spain), True Vibenation (Australia/Zimbawean), Mi Casa (SA), Mingas, Tucan Tucan, Claudio Ismael, Liloca, Duas Caras e Trez Agah, Orquestra Djambo, Black Jesus Experience (Australia), 123 (Turkey), Floewe (Swaziland) and Sweet, Sweet Moon (Austria).

To ensure that this year’s festival will be bigger and better than ever before, the festival’s organisers recently announced the a new official sponsor, Super Bock, a Portuguese beer brand owned by the Unicer. Their sponsorship will support logistical and organisational aspects of the festival, allowing Azgo Festival to continue to promote and support arts and culture from Mozambique and the region.

The director of Azgo festival, Paulo Chibanga, said: “We thank Unicer and Super Bock for their confidence in our festival. It is a honour to have a brand with international prestige as our major sponsor in 2015. We look forward to working together to promote arts and culture from Mozambique, the region and around the globe.”

Tiago Almeida, manager of Unicer Mozambique, said: “Our partnership with Azgo Festival fits perfectly with the core values of Super Bock Music, a key pillar of our Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability charter of the company. Azgo Festival is one of the most successful projects in Mozambique promoting music and culture.

“One of the unique qualities of Azgo Festival is its focus on social responsibility and sustainability, so we are excited to form this sponsorship partnership to assist the festival in achieving these initiatives,” added Almeida.

Azgo Festival is a founding member of the Firefest Route, which is a partnership between MTN Bushfire Festival (Swaziland), Sakifo (Reunion Island), HIFA (Zimbabwe) and Fireball (SA). The Super Bock sponsorship is one of the key partnerships that the festival has nurtured over its five years.
